Providence Children's Film Festival

Every year the Providence Children's Film Festival searches the globe for films that inspire, challenge and entertain kids. For four special nights this summer PCFF will be presenting four thematic reels of short films selected from this year's festival. Popcorn will be poppin' and hearts will be stoppin'! Grab your picnic baskets and lawn chairs to join us under the stars in 195 District Park.

All films start just after sunset. Check online for event weather updates: PCFFRI.org

July 11th - "BE STRONG, BE KIND"

The theme of this shorts reel is empathy, which allows us to understand and share the feelings of others anywhere in the world. Some people have it, while others... Well, let’s just say they might need more practice. (Multi-national / Running time 90 mins / in English or non-dialogue / 90 mins / appropriate for all ages)

July 18th - "FREE TO BE"

This program celebrates stories of unique and ferocious folks who reject being classified or defined by stereotypes and live their authentic selves. Historic prejudices, gender journeys and coming-of-age are all explored. (Multi-national / in English or w/English subtitles / 92 mins / suggested for 10+ but appropriate for all ages.)

August 15th - "Comm-YOU-nity"

The title says it all! We live in a world with other people. How do we feel like we fit in... or not? These films are of people (and critters) trying to figure it all out. (Multi-national / in English or w/English subtitles / 95 mins / Appropriate for all ages)

August 29th - "LET’S GET ANIMATED"

Animation IS magic. Giving lifeless materials the illusion of being alive can be extraordinary. You will see that the options can be endless! (Multi-national / in English or w/English subtitles / 90 mins / Appropriate for all ages)
